Our Sustainable Development Undertaking
30 years ago, Aubrilam proposed the first wooden/metal lamp posts for street lighting and in doing so, the natural material of wood made its way into a field up until now dominated by steel or aluminium. Their success proved that environmental and economic issues were not only compatible, but that the first, when stemming from a true conviction and underpinned by an entrepreneurial logic, can pave the way to a great success story…
Nowadays protecting the environment has become a resolutely global concern.
By way of the so-called Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) method certifying bodies propose the possibility of drawing up Product Environmental Profiles (PEP). This product sheet represents a product's ecological footprint measured via eleven accurate and costed criteria from the genesis of the raw material to product end of life.
This was a must-do investment for Aubrilam: following a pan-European search, we opted for CODDE (Bureau Veritas group) and integrated its EIME software.
We can now present the PEPs of all our products.
By means of an Eco-comparison tool, we can also calculate the ecological footprint of our products for each project by comparing it to the footprint left behind by a metal lamp post.
Our Sustainable Development approach elaborated in the Harmonies Magazine Special Edition on Sustainable Development is downloadable in PDF file.
